Forget the Ocean is a reconstruction of the relationship between the director’s grandfather and grandmother, set in the modern context during the post-Brexit crisis in the UK. He was a young Punjabi law student, she came from Yugoslavia for her MA studies in English language and literature. In reality, they met in 1957 and got married a few years later. In the post-Brexit fiction, things are much more complicated.
